Lyn Halper was leading a typical suburban existence as wife, psychologist, and car-pool mom. Then,in 1986, her life took a radical turn when she met an American psychotherapist and clairvoyant who recognized her as an adept and intiated her through the Hindu tradition of shaktipat. Following the turbulent release of the Kundalini energy, Lyn found she had come into psychic and spiritual gifts. Dur

Background Information

There was never any doubt that I would share my personal journey into the world of psychism and spirituality with others. The very first time I sat down with a professional psychic for a reading, I was told that one day I would write such a book. After that, many mystics, sages, and holy men told me the same thing -- this was my destiny, one of the things I was to do during my lifetime. The writing of my first book, "Adventures of a Suburban Mystic" took six years, and the manuscript kept evolving. The first part tells about the spiritual world from the viewpoint of a novice and initiate. By the time I got to the second half of the book, I was a parapsychologist, but the laws of the universe kept surprising me. To me, what I experienced seems incredible, but I lived it, I wrote it, I'm sharing it with the world.

Lyn Halper, PH.D. is a member of the National Honor Society in Psychology since 1980. She is listed in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, 58th edition.

Additional Information

Today Lyn is a transpersonal psychologist and professor of Religious Studies at a suburban community college. She is a director of APRC (Anomalous Phenomena Research Center, Ltd.) where she and parapsychologist, Dr. Alexander Imich, work with psychically gifted people to solve the mysteries of the paranormal. Her first book,"Adventures of a Suburban Mystic:a true story of spiritual transformation and supernatural encounters" took six years to write. It was published January 2001 by High Point Press in conjunction with Trafford Publishers.
