I submitted a screenplay to the Bonanza TV show when I was twelve. The writers must have had a good laugh over it, but their rejection letter was kind, so I kept at it. I wrote mostly for my own amusement until later in life. I decided I wanted to write romances, which have been a staple of my reading diet since high school. I took a course in How To Write a Romance Novel, and gave myself five years to learn how to do it. I'm pleased to say my hard effort has finally paid off. My debut novel, The Reluctant Debutante, is being unfurled by Crimson Romance on July 2, 2012, with the second book in the series scheduled for release in December. I write historicals set in America during the tumultuous era leading up to and including the Civil War. My contemporaries have heroines who have been around the block. They're usually in their late 30s or early 40s and know what they want.
