I've been a writer since fifth grade with dreams of becoming a published author, and only got my nerve up ten years ago to make it come true through independent publication.
In high school I discovered James Baldwin, Zora Neale Hurston, Sidney Sheldon and Rita Mae Brown. After reading these authors I understood good writing not only has voice, it also has soul.
No matter how deep, or horrifying, or exciting, a good story for me has to have a touch of romance.
I grew up in rural southeast Missouri, went to college in Memphis, Tennessee at LeMoyne-Owen, then I joined the Marine Corps. I traveled this country a bit and settled into southern California for about twelve years. I've since moved back to Missouri where I actually began completing works and decided it was time to take the plunge into the world of publishing. So far I have published Cheap Red Wine, some would call it chit lit, I think it is adult contemporary. Also there is Once an Outlaw, part one of a historical western romance.
