Tony Pearson resides in southern California where he is currently attending college and running a family business. In addition to writing, Tony also co-manages the career of his young son, Joey Pearson, who recently appeared in the semi-finals on the CBS show, Star Search. Tony wrote 9 of the 10 songs on Joey's last CD and produced some of the tracks of his current full-length CD. Both albums are available on Joey's website at www.JoeyPearson.com and on Amazon.com Tony enjoys writing junior novels for kids and teens and he is currently working on book four in the Wesley Harris series.
Tony is influenced by writers who delve below the surface of mere story-telling and begin to develop characters and settings that will stay with you long after the back cover is closed. A character is not really developed properly until the reader mourns that character once the book has finished.
Pat Conroy is Tony's favorite author and his title, "The Prince of Tides" is considered by Tony to be a work of pure genius. Pat Conroy is a master story-teller and he has mastered the art of character development.
Many of the characters and situations that are found in Tony's Wesley Harris series are loosely based on experiences in his growing up, as well as tidbits he picked up from others growing up. He wanted to develop a set of characters that are approachable by today's young reader, while at the same time inspiring today's youth to always put their best foot forward and to stand up for the oppressed when they are able to.
Tony is currently working on book 4 in the Wesley Harris series and plans to continue working on this series until he feels Wesley has no more to say.
