As a student of the Bible, I have sought to understand the birth and evolution of the Christian religion from a secular perspective. I find that there is a tremendous amount of interest in this topic, as evidenced by such works as "God is Not Great," "MisQuoting Jesus," and "The Jesus Mysteries." We are at a crossroads in our understanding of the role and purpose of Christianity in this country, and I have a deep interest in sharing my ideas about these developments.
I am also interested in sharing my ideas about several pecularities in the military justice system that make it uniquely unfair to service members. For example, one such unfairness presented by Articles 133 and 134, essentially allowing commanders the unlimited discretion to charge and punish military personnel without the protections afforded civilians. The military justice system also claims jurisdiction over military members even when off base, off duty and in civilian attire, and even when an offense has no reasonable relation to military duty. Several articles and a book are soon to be published describing these and other military injustices that put our military members at an unfair advantage. It is indeed ironic that in a country whose Bill of Rights and Constitution they are sworn to uphold and defend, military members have less protections than the civilians they protect.
