A lawyer by profession, but a writer at heart . . .

Background Information

Julie Compton was born in St. Louis, Missouri, the setting for her first novel, Tell No Lies. She is a graduate of Washington University School of Law. After practicing with private firms in St. Louis early in her legal career, she most recently worked as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice in Wilmington, Delaware, where she worked on some of the largest corporate bankruptcies in the nation. Julie has been writing for as long as she can remember. The novel is her favorite form, but she also enjoys writing short stories, poems, personal essays and editorials. She also writes for Lake Mary Life Magazine, a local lifestyle magazine. Julie now lives in Florida with her husband and two daughters and is fortunate enough to write full-time. Her first novel, Tell No Lies, is being released in the UK (Pan Macmillan) on February 1, 2008, and in the US (St. Martin's Minotaur) on May 13, 2008.
