I spent 15 years as a pharmacist before moving into clinical research and fiction writing. I am currently working on my first young adult fantasy series, which will run five volumes, the first two of which have been self-published.
I also plan additional novels - fantasy, mystery, possibly time travel, and a post-apocalyptic thriller.
Influences include: Lloyd Alexander, Norman Juster, Anne McCaffrey, Isaac Asimov, Katherine Kurtz, John Dickson Carr, John Milton, Wilkie Collins, Edgar Allen Poe, and many more besides! The best young adult book I've read lately is "Speak" - highly, highly recommended. And Eva Ibbotson, Carl Hiaasen, Andrew Clements, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett.

First two fantasy novels have been self-published: "An Unlikley Duke" and "A Prince in Need"
"An Unlikely Duke" has been contracted with Helm Publishing in Illinois, for expected publication in 2007. Once available, its entry will be updated at Author's Den.
I will be attending TCON in Toronto, July 7-9, and will serve on a couple of panels.
If you know a high school or middle school librarian, tell them to contact me about possible copies of my books to send to their libraries.

Volumes 3, 4, and 5 of the Myrridian Cycle
The remaining books in my fantasy series beginning with "An Unlikely Duke" are currently titled: "Legacy of the Archbishop," "Earldom Under Siege," and "Kingdom in the Balance." All of the books have been drafted, though the final volume is undergoing its first rewrite.
I plan to do another series of books in an expanded Myrridian universe, tentatively titled "Unholy War," where several of the characters will go on a crusade. This project is currently in the research and plotting stages.
An occult mystery series is also planned, also in the planning stages.
A possible time-travel series for younger readers is under consideration, as well as a young adult series involving a teenaged girl who is also a witch. I hope this series will be in the "Bewitched" mold, with humor as well as adventure.
