Born in January 1968 in the town of St Helier, jersey, Ana moved to England when she was just a baby. She is one of a twin, and third oldest in line to eight brothers and sisters. Her childhood spent in children’s home, then in four foster homes.
She was sent to a special school for reading and writing difficulties and spent most of her time {in as people used to call it,} a normal school, for lessons that she excelled at. Leaving school at 16, her first job was curtain making for approximately one year, and then working in a frozen food factory for the next year or two. She left here when she was 18 and began work in a pyrotechnic factory, making rockets and flares for the army and navy. It was also while working there, that she met her future husband Jason. At the time, he was in the army as a junior musician.
They married just after he came back from the first gulf war when Ana was 23, then posted to Germany with a new baby boy, Tony. Here they were isolated from their regiment for a year, unable to speak very little German, or none at all; they moved to a station nearer the regiment after spending that year apart from them. Two years later, they were posted back to England, where they had a little girl, Kimberley, the following year. After only spending three years in England, again they transferred back to Germany, but for a shorter spell of only two years. During those two years, Ana saw her husband again go off for his second war. Their arrival back to England after spending two years in Germany has seen another war that Ana’s husband had to go to, the second gulf war. Ana gave birth to another son, Howard, who suffers from a speech and communication disorder and autism. Now they reside in Dorset, with their children Tony, 15, Kimberley, 11 and Howard, 7.
