The biggest Influence in my youth was William Blake...i felt like was being infused with his soul and even today i would like think that i write with the same spirit as Him in a more contemporary idiom though i do write a lot of Haikus...there is one verse that i think sums-up Blake it is:


To see a world in a grain of sand
And hold Infinity in the palm of your hand;
To see beauty in a wild flower
And Eternity in an Hour.

Just one Haiku i wrote in Japan on 'Cherry Blossom viewing Day' a public holiday: Snowing pink blossom... Ravens grubbing for worms... This wet May morning. _________________________________________________ Recent haikus: Trying to make a friend... Wispering into my ear... The flurrying moth. Sitting and watching... The continuous flowing stream... Soothes the restless soul. Walking the coast path... Chance encounter with a friend... We talk about Teeth. Brushed by a birds wing... A woman serenely sits... Beauty steals the Hour. PS: I am a VEGAN & have been for nearly 40 yrs & have just read a book: "Living on Light"...that is correct! living with-out food...i have practiced 10 day fasts just like the "Brothers of Purity" of the original Greek Academy two & a half thousand yrs ago...Socrates, Pythagoras et al believed (as i do) that it was good for the mind & body. So maybe there are some Individuals who defy our conventional ideas of Science and live quite productive and altruistic lives with out consuming any food including liquids...which in these times of such excessive greed by some individuals (that are sanctioned by the leaders of some countries) is a beacon to us all! And is a TRUE MIRACLE that is ignored because the powers that be are too busy CONSUMING in their Consumer's Paradise...Amen.
