I have been writing all my life, but only my non-fiction articles have been "published" in small newspapers and professional publications. I enjoy writing fiction, and write as often as I can. However, I can never seem to find the time to get my stories or my novel published. I love fiction, but I may try to break into the published world by writing some non-fiction articles.
I was born to the Air Force, with my father serving and moving with the whims of the service for the first 18 years of my life. Then I enlisted and started an incredible journey that included many living in foreign lands and many states, marrying my dear British husband, and raising my incredibly talented daughter. Later, I retired from the Air Force, but the force was too strong for me to get away; I worked as a civilian for the Air Force for seven years.
Now, I work for the State of Idaho, and it's so different I truly enjoy the work and the challenges. I have a great boss and coworkers that make me laugh and feel part of a family. Though politics can get in the way, it is government after all; I enjoy it and hope to make a difference.
By the way, I know there are a lot of stereotypes of Idaho. However, the stereotypes are wrong. Idahoans tend to be pretty conservative, but they are also open-minded, caring, and forward-looking. The Aryan Nation group, which so many people have heard about, was actually kicked out of the state several years ago, and their compound has been turned into a positive venue. Most Idahoans would welcome more diversity in the state. Come visit and check it out.
