I have always enjoyed telling stories and writing. I have written several short stories. I have written a play called "The trial of the big bad wolf and have presented it in a mock trial. My students along with another classroom were the actors. It was a success and it encouraged me to write more. While on disability, I had a lot of time on my hands and began forming the idea about writing a romance novel. Thus "We Belong Together... forever and a day" was created.
I am a hopeless romantic and I enjoy getting into my own little world either by writing or thinking of what will happen next in my novel. Next thing I knew, I was on chapter 4 and the characters started to come alive. it was exciting !!.
The real excitment came when I found Publish America. A tradionnal ( POD) publisher that did not want money! I had tried several others and I had positive reports. However, I was told, yes, they would accept my book but not without thousands of dollars which I simply did not have.. I sent my book to PA and a few months later, I had letter in the mail telling me that they were accepting my novel!! Wow.. my husband came home and saw my wide grin and actually thought that we had won the lottery, but he was just as excited to hear that my book was actually going to be published!!
Finally, I received my two copies in the mail. Wow again!! It felt almost sureal to hold the book and read what I had written. It's a great feeling, one that will stay with me forever.
I am now working on a book for children 8-12.. a story about an 8 year old boy named Donavan who experiences kidney failure. The book contains a lot information about the process one must go through during kidney failure. I hope it will help the children as well as the parents during this very difficult time.
For anyone out there who has found the passion of writing, keep in mind that nothing is impossible.. as Elenor Roosevelt once said... "The future belongs to those who beleive in their dreams"
