My name is Linda. I was always interested in writing since I was a child. I was always writing something. My first book which is long gone now, unless my mom has it put away somewhere was “Perry Parakeet and His Master”.
I began to write in earnest during Nanowrimo 2005. I didn’t finish or complete anything but I discovered Lulu. That gave me a idea. I had written some poetry about 15 years ago after I loss my grandmother to cancer. I began writing poetry as a release. The result was a collaborative collection of Poetry that I published as “Internally Love Shines.” But it was funny, when I met my current husband, the need for release was no longer there and my flair for poetry disappeared.
I got married and had two boys. They are my inspiration in my children books that I write now. Kyler, my oldest, has ADHD and AS (Autism Spectrum). I got the idea for “Why is He Different” from him. The kids that he went to school with, didn’t understand why he acts the way he does. So I set out to write a book that children can understand. Kris Byrneside, my co-author, took my idea and made it into a story that children understand. The problem came in finding an illustrator before my dream could come true and get this book out. I found Athse Publishing. My dream came true. The book is now available.
“Big Brother, Little Brother” is based on both of my children. It is just a feel good book, nothing special except that brothers are special.
I have another book in the work called “Rainbow Surprises” which again is based on a personal experience with my children and our cocker spaniel who passed away last June.
