I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, and grew up in a middle-class neighborhood. I was not brought up in a Christian home, did not attend church on a regular basis, and God’s word was not taught in the home.My Dad believed that when we where old enough we could choose for ourselves what to believe. My childhood was a typical one, but in school I struggled. The teachers told my parents that I was mentally retarded because they could not teach me to read, write or spell. Later in life they found out that I had dyslexia. I enlisted in the Army(special forces) . Years after my enlistment I found out that I had a brain tumor with little chance of having any type of quality of life or survival. Today I am told that I am my surgeons oldest living patient. I am blessed. I am married of 35 years with two Sons and 5 Grandchilden.
