Published mystery writer of great suspense filled novels. Avid reader with a passion for writing. Speaks for organizations.

Background Information

When I was about thirteen years old, I began writing my first novel. I completed approximately three chapters and I was very proud of them. I showed my father my work. He is the person who encouraged reading and was an avid reader himself. So, I figured he would be the best person to show it to. He read my writing and then proceeded to give me a half hour lecture on plagiarism. I couldn't believe it. I allowed that incident to stop me from writing. It was many years later that I resumed my passion. It was my mother who then encouraged me. So, I wrote, submitted my work and was accepted by a publisher. Ironically, my first novel was released on Father's Day 2005. My dream became a reality. Since then, I have flourished as an author and I continue to enjoy my enthusiasm in writing.

Accomplishments

I am an executive editor for Suspense Magazine. I have been interviewed in the newspaper and on the radio with relation to my fiction work. I have also been a co-host on Suspense Radio.

I have won three Best Speaker awards as well as Best Evaluator at the Voice Ambassadors chapter of Toastmasters. I am a member of Sisters in Crime, Los Angeles Chapter and nationally. She has always been active in events. Reina has also been instrumental in compiling authors and planning a local author event at Barnes and Noble in Ventura, California along with the store’s event manager.

Additional Information

I publish a quarterly newsletter called WhoDunIt. In this newsletter, I feature authors and am always looking for new authors for this. I have arranged and co-hosted the West Coast Author Premiere in 2006 and am again co-chairing on the committee for the 2007 West Coast Author Premiere that is scheduled for July 21, 2007 in Ventura, California. Additionally, I have made appearances and signed my novels at many places, including the UCLA Festival of Books in California, Barnes & Noble in California, and a library in New York. I have also been interviewed by organizations and newspapers. For more information, please visit my website at www.QueenWriter.com. My second in my Ivanovich series, "Deadly Decisions" will be released February 1, 2011. My collaborative novel with Terri Ann Armstrong, "A Stab in the Dark" is slated for release in 2011. Here's what it's all about: What do you get when you put two FBI agents, two police precincts, three CSI units, four murder victims, five suspects, two cross-dressers & one neurotic woman with a business partner who is an ex-mob princess together? You get a story of grisly murders & forensic investigations rivaled by intense humor! Starleen Maddox & Teresa Mancini witness an unspeakably horrible crime. But, all is not lost. They did what any two, law-abiding, "normal" citizens would do-they ran. But who are Starleen Maddox & Teresa Mancini? Starleen is as neurotic as they come and she and her craziness can be found in Terri Ann Armstrong's "Morning Menace". Teresa is the daughter of a mob boss who acts if the world was born to serve her needs, but was actually born in "In the Name of Revenge", the first of my Ivanovich Series. It's a collaboration that has never been penned on paper before. To see how this works, you can read it in "A STAB IN THE DARK".
