Background

I have worked with young people off and on for years and have seen the lack of documentation of their activities, learning experiences, and training all of which are jump-starts to work experience. This lack of documentation caused me to write Resumes for Children – 17 Years Old and Under a guide to assist in developing resumes or what I call CABs (Child Activity Briefs). I have other children's books in the making, one of which will also target children 17 years old and under.
I'm a native New Yorker (from the Bronx), and am a product of the New York City School system, but completed my college years in Georgia by earning my bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University and my associate’s degree in Communications Electronics from Georgia Military College. My experience includes stints as an Associate Regulatory Scientist with The Coca-Cola Company (corporate offices), Quality Assurance Engineer with SunTrust Bank, and Quality Assurance Manager with the Earthgrains Company. I am currently a Quality Assurance Manager for a large U.S. Baking Company in Atlanta, GA; other "hats" I wear within the company are Food Safety Officer and Trainer.
I am a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators and a free-lance writer for Oatmeal Studios a leading humorous greeting card manufacturer.

A child having a resume is very beneficial. One, it boosts a child's self-esteem. Two, utilize a child's resume to seek sponsorship from family and friends, seek grants, and scholarships. Your child's resume can accompany his or her application for academic programs, competitions, etc.
