Major influences: God, my husband, my children, my ministry, and prayer (not necessarily in that order.)
Don't you wonder just why things influence you? Why does the flower opening affect you today but not yesterday? Why do you notice a smile, a sunset, a dirty cabinet handle today but missed it yesterday? What causes those influcences? This is the gift of the writer, to notice, and then report, about the things that are all around us all the time, but that we open ourselves to on occasion. Influences are important. They are what makes us who we are. They are everywhere, and when we take the time to recognize them, record them, and contemplate just what a difference they make, then we are real, we are a writer.
