Freelance writer living in Detroit, Michigan. Previously published essays in "Today's Black Woman" magazine as well as online literar zines. Currently working on first novel while simultaneously writing short stories in between periods of writer's "drought."

Background Information

I majored in English at Wayne State University and after encouragement by several professors, decided to become a writer. I paricularly enjoy reading short story writers such as Kate Chopin, Zora Neale Hurston, Maupassant, Raymond Carver, Charles W. Chestnutt and many others.

I'm looking forward to improving my craft with the help of other astute writers, and even giving my own two cents worth of help to others.

Accomplishments

Published (and paid) first time out by major print publication. Dean's List at Wayne State U.
(That's about it for now, folks). Hopefully, one day I can add that I am a published novelist!
