I was first inspired to write by all of the great children's authors I devoured as a kid--Alcott, Lewis, Alexander, and L'Engle all led me down the paths of creativity. When I got to high school, a fabulous English teacher believed in me and encouraged me to write more. Everything that I am I owe to the late Kitty Savage. My favorite teacher of all time was my Latin teacher, Grady Warren. It's entirely due to him that I have the immense background of Greco-Roman mythology to build my worlds. Once I reached college, I branched out into theatre. It was there that I learned the nuances of character and plot development.
As a result of this rich background, when I write I see the story unfold like a movie.
