Background Information

Craig Quackenbush, novelist, freelance writer, editor. Debut novel will be released upon an unwary public in autumn, 2015.

A night owl by nature (can't write in the dark but can't write without the dark). An idealist, a cynic, and an optimistic pessimist. All traits reflected in his work.

Film studies (film theory, screenwriting), Academy of Art College, San Francisco.

Broadcast Journalism degree, SUNY Buffalo, NY.

Writer & director of short films, some acting, wrote several screenplays. The latest screenplay, "Small World," recounts the period of his younger years when he both lived and worked at a residential hotel in San Francisco’s seedy Tenderloin district.

Astoria, Queens is home.

First place winner of the Abbey Hill Literary Second Quarter 2010 fiction contest with the short story “Tone."
