Why don't they make sand-proof laptops so I can write at the beach? Why?

I'm an investigative journalist at heart, so I get a charge out of digging up information that's buried and finding people who don't want to talk and getting them to open up. That's why I write nonfiction, because I have tremendous respect for the power of words to reveal truth and change lives. The money and independence don't suck, either.

I just had a book come out (November 2008) with McGraw-Hill called "The Brand Called You," co-written with my pal Peter Montoya. It's a rarity in that my name's on it. I also had another book come out from McGraw in June, a ghosted book called "The Beauty Prescription." I'm working on a bio of former California secretary of state March Fong Eu and 4 other projects, and just got a book I did for Melissa Rvers accepted by Random House.
Other than that, not much going on.

My copywriting website. I don't write ad copy to pay the bills anymore, but this is still the only decent site I have. The rest...yuck.
