My grandmother gave me the name Usobunandu, and over the years I have come to realise that indeed, as the name indicates, it is while we are alive that we can show love. Life is not enjoyable when love is lost among relations, friends and acquaintances. Human activities inspire me: the madman's chants, the angry mother's howl, the labourer's sweat, the politician's siren, the student's pen, the bereaved's tears, the lover's song. Writing may not be fun, but not to write is much pain, with such great surge of emotions seeking fissures to be expressed.

I have written some short stories, but poetry still remains my main medium of literery expression. I have read my poems at different fora and published some in some anthologies. My collection of poems, Fissure for the Turmoil Within, is ready for publication.
