As a child I loved to read. We had no television, so Mom would buy us kids comics fromn the drugstore when she got her medicine. I always dreamed of being a writer. . . and I DID!!! I wrote my first novel during my freshman year of high school. . . it was called "The Black Angles" (Angels) and was about a street gang, even though I had never been to the city. I had read David Wilkerson's "The Cross and the Switchblade" and I had been greatly impressed. I have always loved books, and seeing my very own words in print gives me a pleasure hard to describe. It is just great!!! I publish at Lulu. . and I am a very good customer of my own stuff. . . the first book I shall put on here, however, was written by my 10 year old daughter, Dakota, and edited by me. We both worked on the illustrations. My work involves helping handicapped people, and I mentioned one of the fellows needed large print books that are easy to read. . . so my daughter came up with "A Beginners' Own Little Stories". I thought it was really cool.

Well, I''ve achieved putting myself in the hospital once from staying up too late too many nights and not eating or drinking right and getting dehydrated because I was so into my books. In highschool I got some sort of little recognition thing at graduation for a poem I had published. But I don't get awards. . . I just get REWARDS. . the reward of seeing my own thoughts down in print in a nice shiny new book, published by ME!!!

I would like to share that I grew up legally blind and no one encouraged me in anything, thinking I was just too handicapped to do much. However, I had other ideas, and today I am a VERY happy and busy housewife/mom/author who enjoys writing books, poetry, songs and whatever else comes along. . . I have even written some curriculum for homeschooling. . . I just LOVE TO WRITE!!!
