Richard retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer in 1983. For the next 25 years he worked full time in the US Space Industry, raised a family and obtained his college degree. In 2006 he became a publisher and produced and published a glossy dining guide magazine for the Grand Strand area of South Carolina. He currently lives on his sailboat, the S/V Geisha in Port Canaveral, Fl.

Background Information

Hilda Jo Maness, my senior English teacher wrote in my 1963 Whirligig yearbook, "I have seen you improve in many ways this year. We'll forget the grammer and just remember your clever writing." Well I find I still need a good editor but I always remembered that compliment and have, over the years, tried to make Hida Jo proud. I love to write and hope I am fairly good at it. I've never made any money from it but I have gained a lot of pleasure which is worth a great deal to me.
