Additional Information

From the author of A Thousand Pleasures, Ryan Jesena has completed his sophomore effort. In a Blink of an I will take you from the back alleys of Sunset Blvd. to the streets of Manila, grabbing all the metaphors and similes along the way. The images are brave, unrelenting, and piercing; it grabs you at the edge and refuses to let go. You can taste the growth in the imagery and story-telling, which has developed a style and rhythm of its own over the past two years. This man is the voice that merges the gap between Generation X and Generation Y. The poems are a hybrid of techno babble, jazz progression, hip-hop tempo, and steadfast rock. Inspired by artists such Paul Oakenfold, Beth Orton, Miles Davis, Max Graham, Black Eyed Peas, Stephen Dunn, John Digweed, James Joyce, Charles Bukowski, John Coltrane, E.E. Cummings, Michel Foucault, and Alain De Botton.
