Cancer survivor with an awe of nature and its healing power. Core belief is in personal responsibility for ourselves and our happiness.

Background Information

After my diagnosis of stage IV breast cancer in 2006, writing became therapy as well as a new creative outlet. My journey through chemotherapy led to a 'miracle' of full cancer remission in early 2007. My aspiration is to help other cancer patients with encouragement and example. The first "fruits" from my Inspiration Tree, The Garden of Being, is available on www.amazon. A children's book, also with a garden theme, will soon be published. My favorite past-times are gardening and trips with my husband on our Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

The Garden of Being
The Garden of Being tells how closely our human life experience correlates with a "green" garden - its cycles of planting, protecting and harvesting. It also emphasizes the appreciation of all that goes into making a bountiful and life sustaining "garden". This story is told in two voices - a daughter who received a stage IV cancer diagnosis and her mother. The time period covers nine months in 2006-07 concluding with a prayed-and-fought-for miracle, cancer remission. Gardeners and non-gardeners alike will find inspiration and lessons of surviving well; and will indeed realize how life itself is The Garden of Being.
