John Oarc published What Ever It Takes, God; The Most Difficult Things For Men To Survive in 2006. Trying to forgive infidelity takes more courage and determination than many are willing to muster and the author demonstrates just how hard it can be. He desperately hangs on to his marriage while obsessing over the betrayal in a seemingly endless pool of why. In the process his wife begins to peal back the layers and reveals her painful childhood memories of abuse. With the help of a professional counselor they discover the affair has more to do with her past than his abilities as a husband. Still struggling with forgiveness he comes to many startling conclusions, he realizes that his own adult troubles have roots in the past and had something to do with the failing marriage. He sheds light on childhood mental and sexual abuse; he accurately reveals how CSA influences children and eventually adults. He thoroughly documents his problems; pornography, co-dependency, broken trust, addiction, fear of success, low self-esteem and much more in vivid (real life) detail. The author ultimately finds freedom in forgiveness. We don't get many chances to truly forgive another and it's simply not an easy task but the rewards are well worth the effort.
