I'm a former speechwriter by trade, now a stay-at-home mom/writer. I've been writing novels, short stories and screenplays for more than ten years now. JANEOLOGY was a five year writing process that began soon after my own mother passed away. Quite unexpectedly, her death shed a lot of insight into her as a person, not just a mother. Soon, I had my own children and found myself in that unique, life-altering position where you are standing between two generations - wondering how much of you is from your mother and father; how much of you is inside your own child; and just how much does nurture influence an individual. And because all things inform the writer's life, my questions soon made their way into the fictionalized story of Jane Nelson: daughter, wife, mother, murderess, and I hope, a character you won't soon forget. Happy Reading, Karen
