Derrick, an ordained minister recieved his Bachelors degree from Eastern Michigan University in Broadcast Communications. He later earned a Masters in Theological Studies from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, IL. There, he studied under Dr. David Daniels Professor of Church History. Derrick gives Dr. Daniels, his pastor Rev. LeRoy Burden, and the school of hardknocks credit for his spiritual growth and maturity.
