Ms. Wills was born in Pennsylvania, and raised hearing stories of her ancestors from her mother. In 1978, she began researching her maternal lines, and found connections to some of Americas most revered leaders. She also found ancestors who served in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars.
Her first book, Notes And Documents of Free Persons of Color, chronicled the lives of her exraordinary ancestors. Her second book, Pieces of the Quilt: A Guide to Finding Your Mult-Racial Ancestors, is due out in September of 2007.

In September of 2005, Ms. Wills book, Notes And Documents of Free Persons of Color, was featured on C-spans' Book TV. Ms. Wills has interviewed with such Newspapers as, USA today, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and the Richmond Times Dispatch.
