Historical novelist with a penchant for Anglo Saxon England and for vivid and appealing characterization.

Background Information

I declared at seven that I was going to be "an authoress" when I grew up. I started not all that long after that, at thirteen, as a friend and I started a years-long exchange of stories about a fictional medieval king and queen. A strong desire to share what I have learned from divers experiences and sources led to my first book, LOVING THE GODDESS WITHIN: SEX MAGICK FOR WOMEN, published in 1991 and uses goddess imagery and ideas to address self esteem and sexuality in today's woman. My approach to all my topics in nonfiction is practical and sensitive. This can be seen in my many, many works on volunteerism and on disabilities. I have just returned to those old stories from my teen years and therefore to historical fiction. I have been learning a great deal about Anglo Saxon England and applying that to my friend's and my stories in a soon to be published book about how our stories came to be and a complete novelization drawn from them. Researching the era I "accidentally" wrote these stories in has given me a great love for it. I intend to pursue more books set in the time and place in the near future. In the meantime I author a weekly blog of stories about her life and the people around her by an 8th century alehouse keeper, "The Blue Lady Tavern".
