I was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan and completed my education by obtaining a diploma in Graphic Design in 1988 and also hold a degree in Bachelor of Arts from Karachi University in 1992. Later, when I migrated to Canada in 2003, I again enrolled in a creative writing course in “Writing for Children and Teenagers” from the institute of Children’s Literature and obtained a diploma in 2005. During childhood, I got hooked on reading and as time passed, that habit gave birth to my inborn knack of writing poetry and short stories for all ages. I have been writing poetry as an outlet to express my emotions. In 1984, while in college I began writing poetry. I was pleasantly surprised when my first short story was selected and published in the National Daily in Pakistan (The Dawn). Afterwards, a number of my poems and prose were printed in various magazines and newspapers.

In 2003, I was awarded “Editors Choice Awards” for my two poems, which reached the semi-finals in the poetry contest by poetry.com and were published in the hardbound anthology “The Colors of Life” by the International Library of poetry.

In 2004, I compiled my tremendous debut collection of traditional poetry into a book, titled, “Visions of the Soul." It was published and released by Publish America on January 23, 2005 and is available online.

Starting out as a talented graphic artist, I have morphed through several different forms of creative expressions, but writing poetry gives me a unique perspective as an artist. Personal themes based in poetry are anger, heartache, depression, death, hope, love, inspiration, longing, loneliness, joys, sorrows and portrayal of bitter-harsh facts on realities and personal experiences. I also have an assortment of hobbies, namely: traveling, reading, writing, photography, designing, painting, cooking, music, movies, computers and of course pets. I am the fourth child and live with my wonderful and loving Parents. We reside in the city of Crystal Lake, which is the suburb of Chicago, Illinois. Now currently, I am busy writing for Children besides poetry being my first love and along with that awaiting my forth coming releases.
