Writing is what keeps me sane. At least my definition of sane and that is the only one that counts.

Background Information

D. H. BROWN is the son of missionary parents. Between their travels and another world travel plan courtesy of his Uncle Sam, he has touched base in more than 40 countries. He was teaching Sunday school at age 8, was first ordained at the age of 12, graduated HS at 16, and was for awhile an associate pastor with the largest Assembly of God church in Missouri. His writing experience ranges from nonprofit communications to movies. In 1986 he produced the independent children's film Lessie's Rainbow. During the late 80s and early 90s, he wrote the book Common Sense and delivered the seminars of the same name for the Community Action Network of Seattle (CAN). While doing his early Vietnam recovery work, he counseled Veterans and spoke widely to men's groups in Washington State, and was a co-founder of 'The Lodge of the Wolf.' He is also a proud Life member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the National Rifle Association (NRA).

D. H. BROWN has worked as a Logistics and Weapons Specialist in Vietnam; day laborer; Director of Security; Armored Car Driver; Police Officer; Professional Hunting Guide; Trapper; Dog Sledder; Homesteader; Truck Driver; General Contractor; Minister; Editor; Writer; Speaker; Restaurateur; Movie Producer; Antique Restoration Specialist; Personal Care Worker; PC Repair Specialist; Computer Instructor; Webmaster and Web Designer. He writes about what he knows. He lives deep in the Pacific Northwest rainforest with his wife, author and editor R. J. Brown and Buddy Dog, working on his next book.

A Vietnam veteran, D. H. BROWN earned the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal and the Republic of Vietnam (RVN) Gallantry Cross Medal w/Palm.

His professional associations are:
Pacific Northwest Writers Association (PNWA) and
Military Writers Society of America (MWSA).
Associate Member to International Thriller Writers, Inc. (ITW).
American Authors Association (AAA).
Southeast Asia ASA Veterans Association (aka - Old Spooks and Spies)

Additional Information

"I did it all in one sitting and thought it was terrific! The Northwest noir setting, a combination of high-tech and mossy rusticity, the pacing and measured violence --it was all quite capivating. A tense thriller painted on a dark palette, suffused with the heavy, cedary incense of the rugged northwest forests. D.H.BROWN's tight plotting and vivid characters continued to haunt me long after I had closed the book." Michael Curtis Ford -- National Bestselling Author The Ten Thousand, The Sword Of Attila and The Fall Of Rome

"In HONOR DUE, with not a wasted word, D.H.BROWN has crafted a fast paced, electrifying manly modern thriller (& love story), about how the past can come back to bite you, giving honor due to fallen War Brothers, & stepping forward into the future. Like elk steaks, free-range chicken eggs, home-baked pies with apples from the orchard & good coffee, HONOR DUE is a satisfying read with something to say about how we live our lives."

"Lee Child--watch out! HONOR DUE is an exciting, interesting, and informative read that appeals even to a dove like me. It's about time we got a reality check on the warrior's mind. Great first book." Lynn Lott--Author of Seven Steps on the Writer's Path

"In a suspenseful, sometimes-funny first book in his Citizen Warrior Series, D.H.BROWN, in HONOR DUE, has won a prime location on my bookshelf as a must-read author. I think you'll grow to love the sensitive, loving, and protective man that lies within the Major's gruff and gritty exterior." G. A. Bixler -- IP Book Reviewer

"HONOR DUE. It's FANTASTIC. The new generation's Rambo. I loved every page. D. H. BROWN has a way of keeping the reader involved and turning the pages as events unfold. I am looking forward to the next book in the Citizen Warrior Series." p. m. terrell--Author of The China Conspiracy and Kickback
