I am currently serializing my novel online for free, and I'm very excited about it! Another is the opportunity to include visual art, and links to the artist's pages, thereby opening the form and allowing support of multiple genres. Another is it puts the publishing power entirely in the hands of the artist (like author's den!), bypassing the gatekeepers who shape popular culture in the interest of corporate profit. Free public art can be seen as a political statement. It's important. It's alternative. It makes me happy. Best of all, it's free! Free to the reader! Free to the writer! FREE FREE FREE!!!
