I love transferring imaginative scenes onto paper, enrapturing, captivating and moving scenes, scenes that I enjoy picturing and enacting in my mind’s eye whilst writing them.
As English was my favourite subject during my early school days, writing essays and compositions were my favourite pastimes.
During my adult years, I’ve always wanted to publish a book and driven to make the concept a reality, rather than waiting for a mainstream publisher to decide whether they would be willing to buy my work, with my future in my hands, I am happy to have been able to choose one of a number of alternative routes by self-publishing my debut novel entitled, ‘Out of Her League.’
Self-publishing, not for the faint-hearted, can be a very risky move. I applied strengthening faith and trust in God when handing over my work to the self-publishing company, work that had taken me two years to write. Boy, do I have a story to tell one day! As challenging as self-publishing is, with no viably evident controls in place monitoring the activities of self-publishing companies, I have learned a great deal about the publishing industry, but not everything!!
Challenges in the self-publishing industry have taught me to be thick-skinned and firmly focussing on keeping the end result in mind, I can state that the challenges were worth going through. Finally seeing my book in print, on Amazon, Google and various websites is quite exhilarating and encouraging.
I wish all struggling authors the best, that their dreams will come true and, may I state, "Never give up."
God bless you all.
