I'm a 40 something year old woman who masquerades as a government contractor by day. I have always wanted to be a full time writer, at least that sounded good, but I never really knew what that entailed. Once I got a clearer picture of what full time writing meant, I ran in the opposite direction, but the pen and paper kept calling me back. Nothing else satisfies like writing. It's what I'm meant to do - end of story - or the beginning as the case may be...
I've been writing since I can remember. Writing is my therapy, my outlet, my preferred mode of communication. It's the way I express myself best and in many ways writing has given me a voice. Writing is the way I can be as creative, outlandish, and outside of the box as I want to be.
I have found that the ultimate accomplishment in life is to find out what your purpose is and then to pursue it with everything you've got. In my case, that purpose is writing. My writing is the way I will leave my mark on the world - hopefully leaving it a little better than I found it.
Through my writing I envision being instrumental in helping to bridge the gaps that separate us (culturally, racially, socially, economically, etc.) because when we get rid of the barriers we begin to see how alike we really are. It's harder for me to mistreat you when I see myself in your eyes. Just a thought!
So that's basically it. I look forward to connecting with my fellow writers and continuing to learn and grow and strecth into the best writer I can be.
