It meant a lot to me to discover that people on the Internet had been seeking my books while they were out of print.

Background Information

Though I've been best known as an author for children because of the awards I've received in that field, most of my YA novels are for older teenagers and adult readers, and most recently I have published an adult novel not of interest to YA readers.

Accomplishments

Newbery Honor Award, 1971; Phoenix Award of the Children's Literature Association, 1990; and Book Sense Book of the Year finalist in Rediscovery category, 2002 -- all for Enchantress from the Stars.
Christopher Award, 1973, for This Star Shall Abide.
Bronze medal, 2008 Independent Publisher (IPPY) Awards, for Stewards of the Flame.

Additional Information

My newest novel Stewards of the Flame (2007) is adult science fiction, not a YA book, and is of interest to readers who don't ordinarily care for science fiction.

My science fiction trilogy Children of the Star was republished in an omnibus edition as adult SF by Meisha Merlin, 2000.

A new edition of my Newbery Honor young adult science fiction novel Enchantress from the Stars was pubished in hardcover by Walker, 2001, and in paperback by Firebird, 2003.

A new updated edition of my young adult science fiction novel The Far Side of Evil was published in hardcover by Walker, 2003, and in paperback by Firebird, 2005.

A new updated edition of my science fiction romance for teens Journey Between Worlds was published in hardcover by Putnam, 2006, and in paperback by Firebird, 2007.
