"You must do the thing you think you cannot do." Eleanor Roosevelt

Background Information

Fran Baker is a multi-published author whose novels have been translated into more than twenty languages. Her trade paperback novel ONCE A WARRIOR was released to stellar reviews in Publishers Weekly, in other print magazines and on the Internet. In 1998, she founded her own small press, Delphi Books, named for the Oracle of Delphi who was reputed to have been a woman over the age of fifty. (Note that neither the Oracle nor Fran are tellin' how far over!) Delphi Books currently has three titles, all well-reviewed, in print. Fran is a member of Novelists, Inc., The Authors Studio, SPAN, and the Authors Guild. She recently completed a new romantic comedy, ROMEO, ROMEO, for release in the summer of 2004. Currently she is rewriting a romantic suspense novel with the working title SHARK BAIT. Three of her Loveswept novels - THE LADY AND THE CHAMP, SAN ANTONIO ROSE and KING OF THE MOUNTAIN - have been released in large print by Thorndike Press. Fran encourages people to ask for them at their local public library.

On April 1, 2001, Delphi Books published WHO WAS THAT LADY? CRAIG RICE: THE QUEEN OF SCREWBALL MYSTERY by mystery editor and author Jeffrey Marks. LADY? has been nominated for Mystery Writers of America's prestigious Edgar for Best Biographical/Critical Work of 2001 and for Malice Domestic's Agatha Award for Best Nonfiction Book of 2001. In April 2002, Delphi Books published FIFTY CENTS FOR YOUR SOUL by Denise Dietz and CAT TRACKS by Gordon Aalborg.
