Twenty years of trecking in the Amazon and Orinoco jungles have given me a unique perpsective of life and the living. Also the works of the Sir Richard Burton, Ernest Hemmingway, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Aleister Crowley, and Bob Dylan as well as the people I meet everyday have influenced my thinking and writing.

Killer 'Cane: The Deadly Hurricane of 1928, winner of the Royal Palm Book Award for best nonfiction book of 2002.
The Weather Channel will host a documentary on "Killer 'Cane: The Deadly Huricane of 1928" in January 2003.

I've been lucky lately. Reviews and articles on "Killer 'Cane: The Deadly Hurricane of 1928," have run in a number of publications including the Ft Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, Palm Beach Post, Orlando Sentinel, Tampa Tribune, Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Detroit Free Press, Galveston Daily News, Winchester Star.
Also, I will appear in the Weather Channel documentary on the 1928 hurricane which will air in January 2003.
