When life gives you lemons, slice them into wedges and have them with Tequila. To be honest, I’m not much of a drinker. I’ve always been afraid of the addictions that plague others of my siblings. I do, however, believe that you must try to keep a positive attitude…especially when you feel that life has given you a good swift kick in the ass.

I am one of seven children from a middle class family in the most northern part of Kentucky. On the surface my childhood was quite “normal.” In fact, I believe that my family was revered in our community. However, residing behind the beautiful oak and stained glass door was an abyss of darkness and abuse that I internalized and kept secret for many years. I believe that my creative mind was born in that abyss and for that I am thankful. Happily, I met and married a wonderful man and I am proud to report that we will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary this spring. We have produced 3 very loving children and one granddaughter who rocks my world! I still flashback into the abyss occasionally, but, those are only nightmares now from witch I can wake.
