Background Information

I cannot remember when I was not writing--or reading. Growing up I visited the library every day. I read all the books I borrowed and returned them the next day, and borrowed more.At age 10, I finished 'Gone With the Wind' in two days...and so it went.

Later on, I read for credit and actually acquired seven university degrees in various disciplines: English, psychology, sociology, and theology which added another four degrees and included two doctorates. Yet, the Bible continues to intrigue and challenge me. Also, I find that disciplines, like people, are inter-connected. Humans usually miss seeing the big picture.

Yes, I would rather read and write than eat or sleep. Of course, this obsession cost me two marriages. When I was not reading and writing for pleasure or degrees, I was reading and writing for my jobs.

Invariably, my jobs included travelling to far away lands and cultures. All this sharpened my research abilities, so I read more, wrote more...then I taught for thirty years on how to read critically, think critically, write critically and follow each research clue like a blood hound--nose to the ground--relentless and focused.

All the variables in my life were regarded as opportunities to learn and observe how the story would play out. So, now in my retirement years, I shall put them all on paper--I have earned that right!

Birth Place
Planet Earth,  xxxxx

Seven university degrees.
Endless research, academic papers, and teaching manuals.
One book is now going into its 5th edition.
Four books going into publication.
I have not entered any competitions. If I won, I do not know what I would do-- I hate the limelight. I have turned down all requests for interviews. I have never attended one of my graduations.

Last but not least, I am genetically predisposed. Some writers on my family tree: Elizabeth Waller, John Milton, T.E. Lawrence--I too,am allergic to re-writes.

My biggest achievements are three children and two grandchildren. I also have one Chihuahua who is now 14 years old (her partner just died from old age-- 98 in human years) and a lavender-point Siamese cat who is also 14 years old. Yes, the cat is bigger than the dog; but the dog is the boss!

So, there is the story of my life.
