You only get one go at real life, but writing fiction gives you the chance to be many different people and explore many sorts of life.

Background Information

As a small child I would send myself into a semi-trance and tell myself stories. I can still do that, but unfortunately you can't write in a semi-trance, and thinking up stories when you're fully conscious is much harder. I write novels for middle readers, and write and illustrate picture books for younger children. My first novel, 'Midsummer Legend', was self-published in 2005. This is a plausible fantasy equally popular with adults and children of about ten upwards.

Birth Place
Leicester,  U.K.
Accomplishments

I have a BA in German. When I was young enough to have a day job I worked in university administration.

Additional Information

My novel 'Muncle Trogg' for 7-11 year olds was short-listed for several awards in 2007 and is currently being revised.
