I have just published my first book, The Chaparral Murders: Dollar Store Justice.
It chronicles the story of a West Virginian woman whose first husband and son were killed in what appeared to be a gas station robbery gone wrong. There were many irregularities in the case, investigation and trial.
That West Virginian woman is my stepmother. I began to research the case only to uncover what looks to be a case of wrongful conviction. The reader will be able to review the physical and circumstantial evidence and make up their own mind.
WVU School of Law is looking at the conviction to see if it warrents an opening of the investigation.
