I grew up in the Mission District of San Francisco. I've worked in theatre and had a play, "Letters From Rebecca," broadcast by NPR's Playhouse. I have published numerous plays and articles and an Irish American memoir called "Confessions of a Shanty Irishman." I have two books out since, including a thriller called Byron. Aran Press handles my plays. The "60's" photo is by Clay Geerdes, Berkeley

Background Information

Beckett, Chekhov, Bob Dylan, Faulkner,Hemingway Keats, Eliot, Yeats and Little Richard were influences. Thomas Pynchon is another admired author. Sylvia Plath is a great poet. I worked one summer with playwright, Sam Shepard. There are too many important authors to name, really.

Accomplishments

An Irish critic named Confessions of a Shanty Irishman a book of the week. It got a favorable review in the San Francisco Chronicle. I was nominated for a Pushcart Prize for the short Story, "Free Fall." A play called Letters from Rebecca was broadcast on NPR.

Additional Information

Confessions of a Shanty Irishman, a history of an American Irish family and a time in America, is now available with two subsequent books. It is also a Kindle book. These Precious Hours is available as a a soft cover, via Kindle, and as an audiobook read by Alex Hyde-White.
