Michael Edds is a nationally recognized and award-winning educator,governmental administrator, minister, grant writer, and community organizer who has received millions in grants. He has established senior citizens centers, job training programs for at risk youth, built community parks and low income housing, restored numerous historic buildings and districts, organized community revitalization and beautification and many other grassroots community projects.
He received the Distinguished West Virginian Award of Governor Jay Rockefeller in 1980, the National Community Education Association Professional Service Award in 1982, the West Virginia Community Education Professional Service Award in 1983, and numerous local, state and national awards in education and community service. He possesses a BA Degree in History from West Virginia State University and a MA Degree in Counseling from the West Virginia College of Graduate Studies. He hold numerous certifications in housing, juvenile justice, financial planning and in governmental and educational administration.
