I've been a writer all my life. I still have my first story, The Tiny Party, from about the age of five. It isn't bad--nice beginning, development and ending, charming characters (the Tinies). I majored in English Literature at the University of Pittsburgh and have spent much of my life as a college teacher.
I've published both fiction and poetry. I have three poetry collections to date: Liminalog, a chapbook of ghazals and sijo (Inmates Run The Asylum Press), Angel Poison, darker poems(Pudding House Publications) and Inscapes, poems of psychological landscape (Finishing Line Press).
My publisher says my work "explores marginality, alternative visions and the liminal spaces where things slip into the interzone," so I'll go along with that.

Accomplishments
|
|
As a writer, I feel my most important achievements are my published works and I keep a fairly up-to-date list on my blog. One of my most exciting recent achievements was a stay at Hawthornden Castle (yes, a real castle) in Scotland for an International Writers Retreat. It was a wonderful place to get lots of work done--there was a rule of silence all day until sherry time and dinner!
