About The Adventures of Mercury Lane
Book One of the series, Jack's Fall, introduces Jack "Mercury" Lane—a Huck Finn for the new millennium. The writing is targeted at post-Harry Potter "tween," teen, and young-adult readers, in particular teenage boys and girls approaching adulthood. It's a Narnia-like adventure in cyberspace, with a dash of romance and a message of integrity, responsibility and self-reliance (think Boy Scout pledge and Biblical virtues). Parents will be thrilled their children are reading Mercury Lane.
Unlike Harry Potter, Twilight, and other young adult series, there is no occult, magic, vampires, or dragons in the Mercury Lane series. The hero faces danger and overcomes evil without a magic wand. He sins, makes mistakes, and screws up like any boy or girl (or adult), but at the same time he respects elders, honors his parents, tells the truth, and fights evil with good.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
—Psalm 34:14
