Claudia Newcorn has lived in six different countries, speaks three languages, and is a former helicopter pilot, marketing and advertising course instructor, and corporate marketing executive. She currently runs her own marketing and communications business (acornmarketing.com), and is a busy freelancer as well as author. Her passion for writing started early in life. In 5th grade she won a poetry competition, and continued to have stories and poems win school contests. Later she became a student for Wellesley College’s newspaper. In her corporate career she broadened her writing skills with packaging copy and marketing materials. Her published short stories include “A Cat’s Gift of Faith,” in Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover’s Soul, and “The Christmas Tree Nobody Wanted” in Stanislaus Magazine. An experienced public speaker, Claudia writes regularly for a variety of publications, is a magazine editor for two regional magazines, and is a popular newspaper community columnist for The Modesto Bee.
