Full-time clinical psychologist, writing coach, and part-time author of action thrillers and poetry. Current project is a compilation of newsletters for writers including book reviews.


Background Information

Keith Barton grew up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on Chincoteague Island where the ponies roam and swim from Assateague island to his birthplace each year. The son of a naval officer, he moved every three years until his teens and enjoyed the waters on the East and Gulf Coasts including: New Orleans, Saint Simons Island, Virginia Beach, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda. When Keith is not writing, he pursues his clinical psychology practice in Houston, Texas. He is married and has two children, Greg and Kim: Greg is an environmental engineer in Oakland, California, and Kim is an independent screenwriter and producer in West Hollywood. Barton prefers suspense thrillers, and is certified to coach writers. Keith has just published a collection of love poems that speak to love that is a part of every song and life. His latest book, "Reflections from a Business Coach" was published in 2009.

Accomplishments

Twelve published books; twelve research articles, two book chapters in community mental health; Ph.D. from University of Texas at Austin (1972), MPH from UNC-Chapel Hill. Certified coach for small business and writers. Member and Professional Certified Coach with International Coach Federation.

Additional Information

Recently published,Retirement is for Sissies, Silly Little Love Poems, a collection of poems that speak to love gained and lost. Also, Barton's autobiography, Reflections from a Psychologist. His latest book is a collection of articles and advice for business coaches.
