A varied and somewhat checkered background is usually only of interest to the one who lived it, but noting at least a portion seems to be required. :-) Quit school at 15, had a series of low paying jobs, was wild later than most, but survived it well enough. A permanent work injury allowed me to start college at the age of 37 and nothing before or since has made such a significant impact—and that’s where the wordsmithing comes in.
While I can, on occasion, use words and phrases to paint vivid and moving pictures, "author" is reserved for those hardy souls with the drive and energy it takes to exercise firm discipline-writing is hard work! The drive to get it out seems to be missing from my psyche. But I guess there's always a chance that one day I will be inspired to write the great American novel, or something like that. I found this site by accident one evening when in an "I wonder where they are now" mood and saw a bio of an old friend. Signed up to contact him. Haven't heard back. But I like this venue.
