H.L. Cherryholmes, author of “A Slight Touch,” was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He attended the University of New Mexico twice (straight out of high school for two years - he wasn’t really ready to study yet - and then returned four years later to finish up). From there he went on to UCLA to get his master’s degree in Playwriting, which now hangs on his wall. He’s still paying the student loan. He’s lived in California for the past nineteen years, seventeen of those with his partner, Ron Cogan. (He also lived in California between stints at UNM, so he’s actually lived there for twenty-one years, but not consecutively.) Currently, he lives in Los Angeles and Palm Springs, alternating between the two as much as he can. Actually, he tries to stay in Palm Springs more because he really likes the desert. He doesn’t golf, though. He doesn’t see the point in learning yet another sport that he will suck at. Instead of golfing, he writes. It’s a lot more fun.
